Beach Reads Summer Challenge: Week #2

Until this morning, I had no idea what to post about to open the second week of the Challenge, which I will be hosting until July 15th. As you might have seen, these days I have read two of the books I suggested for the participants: Sea by Heidi R. Kling and Going Too Far by Jennifer Echols. I even thought about emphasizing more them today on this post because it has everything to do with summer and our passion for books. As they will not be featured on the Challenge this week, I cannot do that. But I can introduce you the guests that we will have here this week as well as show you the calendar of events.

Tricia Rayburn
Featured Book: Siren
Publisher: Egmont USA
Release Date: July 13th, 2010

Guest Post: July 10th
First of all, I must say Tricia Rayburn is an author whose new YA book I am sincerely desiring since I first heard of. Before writing for young adults, she wrote (and keeps writing) books for children. The Melting of Maggie Bean is her first novel as well as the first book of the Maggie Bean series. Now, she is coming out in July with two releases: Ruby's Slippers (Simon & Schuster) and Siren (Egmont USA), her first Young Adult novel.
Tess Gerritsen
Featured Book: Ice Cold
Publisher: Ballantine Books
Release Date: June 29th, 2010
I am a super fan of Tess Gerritsen and her Medical Thrillers novels and I can say she is one of my favorite authors of all time. She has written 13 Medical Thrillers so far; and the Rizzoli & Isles series consists of her most sucessful books (8) that, by the way, are being turned into a TV series to be released on July 12th.
Phoebe Kitanidis
Featured Book: Whisper
Publisher: Balzer + Bray
Release Date: April 27th, 2010

Guest Post: July 12th (Phoebe's birthday!)
Once again, one of my favorite authors is supporting me here and I can never thank her enough for that. Phoebe is a debut author whose Young Adult book, Whisper, enchanted me. Still, she is preparing another Young Adult novel for the next year, probably, called Summer Falls. You won't want to miss her Guest Post, right? Neither read her fantastic book, right? So, go!
Shelena Shorts
Featured Book: The Broken Lake
Publisher: Landis Atlantic Publishing
Release Date: August 19th, 2010

Guest Post: July 11th (+ Giveaway)
As an Young Adult author since last year, when Shelena came out with The Pace, she is coming out in August with its sequel, The Broken Lake. Her series sounds incredible and I will be reading them for the Challenge as soon as I get them, even though I am not in fact participating.
Kimberly Derting
Featured Book: The Body Finder
Publisher: HarperTeen
Release Date: March 16th, 2010

Interview: July 14th (+ Giveaway)
Kimberly is an Young Adult debut author of 2010 whose novel, The Body Finder, has been such a well-deserved attention since the beginning. I am pretty sure you will want to read as much as I do. Also, she already has a follow-up for this book ready to be released in 2011, Desires of the Dead.
